Walter Gibson, 52, of Russellville an employee of RR Donnelley & Sons for the past 12 years was found dead in the lobby of the employees' entrance at the plant about 6 a.m. Thursday. His body was discovered by other employees reporting for work. Gibson had been employed as a watchman at the plant since 1953, when he was transferred to that post so he would have lighter duties following a heart attack. Mr. Gibson, who had made his home in Russellville for several years, formerly lived at Fincastle. Born Sept 6, 1907 in Indiana, Mr. Gibson was the son of Henry and Mary VanHook Gibson. He married Leona Robbins at Paris, Ill Dec 15, 1928. Mr. Gibson was a member of the Russellville Christian Church. Surviving include the wife, two sons, Galen Gibson, and Kenton Gibson of Indianapolis; 3 daughters, Mrs. Walter Poynter, Mrs. Shobe Gould, and Miss Sandra Gibson at home; 3 sisters, Mrs. Reba Early, Miss Wilma Gibson and Mrs. Helen Etcheson, the parents and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services have been set 2 p.m. Sunday Perkins Funeral Home, Roachdale. Burial at Roachdale Cemetery. friends may call at the family home in Russellville Friday afternoon through Saturday. Calls also may be made at the funeral home from 1 - 2 pm. Sunday.
